1. What is the author's point of view? list 3 pieces of evidence.
The authors point of view is that its not fair that people felt bad for the Paris attack but not for the Kenya. In the article it said "The attack in Kenya was just as terrible as what happened in Paris." "Some people think the difference is unfair, even racist." "They believe it shows that Americans and other Westerners care less about people who are not Western or white."
2. Do you agree or disagree with the author's point of view? why or why not?
I agree that is is not fair that people felt bad for the Paris attack but not for the Kenya attack because in the article it said "Fighters killed students and others at Kenya's Garissa University College. Yet back in April there was almost nothing about it on Facebook and Twitter. There was no outpouring of sadness and support, as there was for Paris." And innocent kids were killed just because ISIS wants to take over their country. They have no right to do that.
3. What is the author's purpose? Provide 1 piece of evidence.
The authors purpose is to inform the readers about how its not fair that people felt bad for the Paris attack but not bad for the Kenya attack. Many people feel that we react to terrible events differently depending on whom the victims are. Some deaths seem to matter more to us than others.
